1/32 Daimler-Mercedes D.IIIa Crankcase
New Tool!
Upper and lower crankcase for WWI Daimler-Mercedes Flugmotor Typ D.IIIa and D.IIIaü (180/200 PS) in 1:32 scale. This is engine that powered most of Germany’s late war single-seat fighters, and a number of two seat types as well, notably the later versions of the Albatros series, the Fokker D.VII and the Pfalz D.III and D.XII.
Use this crankcase as your basis for a super detailed scale replica of the Mercedes six cylinder motor.
In late April or early May 2025 we will release a limited edition, super detailed, Mercedes D.IIIa kit in 1/32 scale; these parts were designed in conjunction with that effort, but we are making them (and all the other parts) available separately as well.
Unlike Wingnut Wing’s rendition, our crankcase does not incorporate the base of the cylinders; instead this is designed to be used with our individual D.IIIa cylinders, available separately. Can be assembled with .5mm rod or tube to simulate the studs (Not included).
