1/32 Daimler-Mercedes D.IIIa Cylinders
THIS ITEM IS DISCONTINUED.
Watch this space for its replacement!
Set of six individual cylinders for WWI Daimler-Mercedes Flugmotor Typ D.IIIa and D.IIIaü; (180/200 PS) in 1:32 scale. Intended for use with our D.IIIa crankcase (sold separately) or the Wingnut Wings Mercedes D.III/D.IIIa engine sprue, found in the Albatros D.Va, Fokker D.VII, Pfalz D.IIIa, D.XIII and several other kits.
Besides eliminating the unfortunate seam found in most kits which depict the cylinders as a single block molded in two halves, our cylinders feature crisp exhaust flange detail, recessed valve seats to accommodate Taurus or other valve springs.
Please Note: this is not a drop in replacement part; the Wingnut Wings kit block part E14 must be modified by removing the bottoms of the cylinders on the top of the block, other wise use our D.IIIa crankcase.
The manifold intake hole can be enlarged to 1.80mm by carefully drilling it out in .05mm increments, starting with a 1.50mm bit. Once enlarged, the Taurusmodels castellated manifold nut is a drop-in fit.
